Benjamin Netanyahu, his government, and his army were shocked to discover that the fighter who clashed with their forces in Rafah – facing tanks, a drone, and elite soldiers before being martyred – was the very commander they had spent a year searching for in vain. Sinwar, who held the roles of resistance leader, architect of the flood, and head of Hamas’ political bureau, had earned the full trust and mandate of the fighters to negotiate a favourable deal. Now, with his martyrdom, the war intensifies as the resistance battles on with bravery, strategy, and skill. The occupation’s genocidal mindset and its racist extermination agenda threaten Palestinians in Gaza and beyond, and resistance becomes the sole path to survival.

Sinwar’s martyrdom, rifle in hand, transforms him into an icon for Palestinians and Arabs alike – a model of leadership that brings victory to its people and its cause. He emerged from captivity, entered the battlefield, and embraced martyrdom, turning his time in prison into a school for understanding the occupying entity and deciphering its codes. His leadership of Hamas in Gaza became a platform for orchestrating a strategic turning point – one that he personally directed, cultivating the necessary environment within Hamas, Al-Qassam, and Gaza, while reviving alliances and restoring the vitality of Hamas’ relations with the powers and states of the Resistance Axis. At the forefront of these efforts was his distinct vision regarding Syria. Sinwar leaves behind everything he built in the hands of his trusted comrades in Al-Qassam, whom he loved, trusted, and who loved and trusted him. They will have the final word in the ongoing confrontation he initiated – a confrontation that will only end with a decisive victory.
