The people of the Golan made their stance clear in a statement rejecting the exploitation of their tragedy, having lost their children, to justify aggression against Lebanon and to perpetrate crimes similar to those committed by the occupation in Gaza. After the people of Majdal Shams and other Golan towns expelled the racist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, they also expelled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The families of the Majdal Shams martyrs, who fell in the Israeli missile massacre, refused to let Netanyahu enter the mourning hall or accept his condolences. Activists from the Golan raised banners that read, ‘Netanyahu, war criminal, get out of here.’ The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the Majdal Shams massacre, asserting, “Our people in the occupied Syrian Golan, who have refused for decades to relinquish their Arab Syrian identity, will not be deceived by the occupation’s lies and false accusations against the Lebanese national resistance for shelling Majdal Shams. Our people in the Syrian Golan have been and will remain an integral part of the resistance against the occupier and its aggressive policies that violate land and identity.”

In Lebanon, the resistance continued its operations, targeting occupation sites with dozens of rockets, undeterred by threats from Israeli leaders and their military. Lebanese leaders firmly rejected the occupations’ labelling of their threats of aggression against Lebanon as a “response,” asserting that it is the resistance that will respond to any aggression. They emphasised that what is unfolding is an act of aggression, not a justified response.
Because discussing an Israeli “response” implies accepting the Israeli lie that attempts to blame the resistance for the Majdal Shams massacre. Sources monitoring the confrontation and threats have indicated that the Israeli army needs to carefully assess its decisions before engaging in a major or minor war. The resistance is unconcerned with the occupation’s terminology; its approach is straightforward: retaliation will be proportional and balanced. Every attack will be met with a response of equivalent magnitude, type, and range. The Israeli army must consider its actions carefully to avoid getting entangled in a situation even graver and more perilous than the one Netanyahu led them into in the Gaza war.

Also in Lebanon, today, supporters of the resistance bid farewell to the strategic thinker Brigadier General Amin Hoteit, who passed away yesterday from a stroke. Brigadier General Hoteit was the Lebanese officer who led the mission to define Lebanon’s borders on Liberation Day in May 2000, at the behest of the resistance president, General Emile Lahoud. For the past ten years, he was a writer for Al-Binaa newspaper and was a prominent media and academic figure who contributed significantly to the development and shaping the resistance’s culture and related literature. His contributions spanned the situations in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, but his compass always pointed towards Palestine. From the very first day of the Al-Aqsa Flood, he was among those who foresaw that the Israeli entity was on a countdown to its demise.
