- Yoav Galant, the Minister of War in the occupying entity, is widely recognized as a key architect of a radical Zionist agenda and a racist environment. He has dehumanised the Palestinian people in Gaza, calling them “human animals” and has openly expressed his intent to wage war on Lebanon since the early days of conflict, boasting of plans to destroy the country and revert it to the Stone Age.
As the overseer of the occupying forces, Galant is accountable for the war crimes committed by this army, making him a central figure in the ongoing violence and aggression.
- Galant’s statement against Netanyahu is valuable for two reasons: first, it dismisses the idea of absolute victory as absurd, and second, it holds Netanyahu’s leadership responsible for the failure to reach a Gaza agreement, undermining serious opportunities that Hamas was ready to accept.
- Given that Galant embodies the extremism, racism, and criminality of Netanyahu, his statements serve as confessions from a key figure in the racist, criminal war, acknowledging that victory is unattainable.
His statement also admits that the responsibility for repeatedly obstructing opportunities to reach an agreement lies with the occupying entity’s government and its leader, thereby affirming the resistance’s claims.
- When the resistance claims that achieving victory over them is impossible, particularly for those in Gaza, the statements of this racist criminal serve as confirmation. Furthermore, when the Gaza resistance argues that negotiations are futile because Netanyahu is not interested in reaching an agreement, and that an agreement is already on the table pending only Netanyahu’s approval before discussing an implementation plan – rather than allowing Netanyahu to use negotiations to make additional demands and buy time for further atrocities – this stance is validated by Netanyahu’s chief ally in both the war and negotiations.
- Galant’s statements reflect not a moral awakening or a change in perspective but a deep-seated anxiety about the impending response from Iran and resistance forces.
The strategy of undermining Hamas’s structure following Haniya’s assassination, only to have Hamas consolidate under the leadership of Yahya Sinwar, has backfired.
Sinwar’s strong position has neutralised the political manoeuvring associated with the negotiation proposals. The fear of the potential repercussions from the response is driving Galant, and likely others behind him, to consider accepting an agreement that fulfils Hamas’s conditions under Sinwar’s leadership.
This concession is seen as a necessary price to avoid the risks associated with the anticipated retaliation. Effectively implementing this option will require significant pressure on Netanyahu, placing him in a challenging position.
- The extremist Zionists, who are deeply entrenched in their racism, are also the ones who are paralyzed with fear about the future.
They are the same individuals evading military service, hoarding supplies in terror, and hoping for the day when Gaza will be consumed by the sea.
This paradoxical state of the Zionist mindset is epitomised by figures like Galant.
