The American Proposal In Oslo’s Spirit

The most potent weapon the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) possessed was withholding acknowledgement of any legitimacy from the occupying entity, and against the backdrop of this weapon, almost 100 countries including African, Arab, and Islamic states, the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, in addition to China and many states in Indo-China refused acknowledgement of the entity and had no relations with it. When the Palestinian Liberation Organization relinquished this weapon, the whole world became open to the entity reaching normalization with a number of Arab states. So what did the Palestinian Liberation Organization gain?

What the PLO gained were American promises of applying good faith to ambiguous texts in the dossiers of sovereignty, settlement, the future of Jerusalem, refugees, and borders, with the outcome, after 30 years, saying plenty about the results of this deal. Judaization of Jerusalem went multiple times further from where it had been pre-Oslo, settlement increased ten-fold, and the Palestinian Authority’s sovereignty which started with “Area A” where it is headquartered ended with the area being invaded, while the Palestinians gained security forces pursuing them on behalf of the occupation.

Clear in the American proposal under the slogan of bridging the gaps in the course of negotiations is a replication of the spirit of Oslo, and an attempt at piracy and taking Palestinians for fools asking them to surrender their most important weapon, the prisoners, in exchange for American promises to apply good faith to ambiguous texts.

The release of Palestinian prisoners will be subject to the occupation’s veto regarding whom will be released and where those released will go, but Washington promises to do her utmost to make the issue of prisoner release as close as possible to the Palestinian demand!

There will not be a full withdrawal of the occupation from Gaza. The occupation will retain some points in the center of the strip and on the border with Egypt, but Washington will guarantee that the remaining number of the occupation’s soldiers will be gradually reduced to become symbolic, also to have symbolic missions, in order to give the occupation reassurance that what had occurred on October 7 will not be repeated!

A final end to the war will be an American pledge, even though the proposal contains a text stating that the failure of negotiations over a final formulation for the status of Gaza after the war implies that the occupation’s military has the right to return to war, i.e. if Al Mukawama refuses to realize the aim of the war through negotiations, the agreement will merely guarantee a cease fire for 6 weeks, but the American will do his utmost to transform the cease fire into a final end to the war!

More importantly, the American is telling Al Mukawama that if she refuses the offered deal, she will have to bear the responsibility for the failure of the negotiations. If Al Mukawama asks what happened to the American President’s initiative in its original version accepted by her,  the answer will be : these are negotiations, and the mediator’s role is to bridge the gaps. If Al Mukawama asks why has the mediator’s intervention not bridged any gap in favor of any of the Palestinian items, the response will be that the Israeli demands are security-related, and America is committed to support Israel and sees Al Mukawama forces as terrorism, and the Arab mediator has not acted in the interest of

Al Mukwama like the American has done in favor of “Israel”. As for the political affair, the American holds tight to the two-state solution and Blinken yelled in Netanyahu’s face reminding him of that.

There will be someone who will come to tell Al Mukwama that for the sake of Blinken having yelled in Netanyahu’s face to remind him of America’s holding tight to the two-state solution, she should accept the deal, just like in Oslo, the echo of America’s cries about her support for a two-state solution continues to reverberate through the lands devoured by the settlements. And just like the Palestinians benefitted from Oslo’s results of a million settlers instead of only one-hundred thousand, 100 states acknowledging the occupation, and a Palestinian security apparatus pursuing them on behalf of the occupation, if they accept the new deal, they will wake up to war after the 6 weeks needed for the deportation of the Palestinians from Gaza, and the realization of the entity’s historic dream of a Jewish population majority in the historic land of Palestine, prefacing a replication in the West Bank with the blessings of Oslo.

Palestinians choose death over granting the Occupation legitimacy for the rape of their land, their dignity, their women and children, and their prisoners. They stand confident that what they have inflicted on the entity is a terminal illness, and that through their heroic resilience proven daily in Gaza and the West Bank, along with Al Mukawama Axis and the free worldwide, its effects on the entity will become apparent, just like Foreign Affairs predicted, whether by civil war, or fragmentation, or by corrosion and disintegration until its end. The Palestinian will not be bitten by Oslo twice.
